Meeting Knowledge Needs

We recently began a landmark collaboration with St.Amant School to meet a pressing need for high-quality information about treating challenging behaviours. In this two-year project, researchers and teachers will develop a knowledge translation process to make relevant research findings user-friendly, easily accessible, and available to all teachers and related professionals.

CARE-ID Presentations

The Canadian Association for Research and Education in Intellectual Disabilities (CARE-ID) has posted its 2010-2011 schedule of Presentations on Intellectual Disabilities, including two by St.Amant Researcher Dr. Bev Temple. These presentations are conducted via teleconference and are open to all CARE-ID members.

Learning to Ask the Right Questions

Can caregivers reduce problem behaviours by making simple changes to the way that they present requests and instructions?

Elements of a Vision

In May 2010 we presented at an event to honour The Winnipeg Foundation‘s support for our work. The following slides summarize our progress toward our vision.

Teaching Perspective-Taking

We’re evaluating a method for teaching students to take others’ perspectives. Children with autism often lack this critical social skill.
